Location: Fallbrook
Description
A busy North County accounting department is looking for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join its team. This is a great opportunity for someone with entry-level to early-career accounting experience who wants to build strong AR skills and eventually grow into an AR Specialist or Staff Accountant position.
You'll work with customer accounts, payments, invoices, and reconciliations while partnering closely with the Accounting and Customer Service teams.
What You'll Do:
+ Post daily customer payments to accounts
+ Process checks, ACH, credit card, and electronic payments
+ Apply payments to the appropriate invoices
+ Maintain accurate customer account records
+ Prepare and send customer statements
+ Review outstanding invoices and aging reports
+ Follow up on missing or unidentified payments
+ Research short payments, over payments, and account discrepancies
+ Assist with customer billing questions
+ Process approved credits and adjustments
+ Reconcile customer accounts
+ Assist with AR aging and collection follow-up
+ Maintain documentation of account activity
+ Assist with month-end AR reconciliations
+ Prepare basic AR reports
+ Support the accounting team with data entry and special projects
Requirements
+ 1+ year of AR, billing, accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience
+ Strong attention to detail
+ Comfortable working with numbers and repetitive transactions
+ Basic understanding of debits and credits
+ Microsoft Excel experience
+ Strong data-entry and organizational skills
+ Professional communication skills
+ Ability to meet deadlines and follow established processes
+ Accounting coursework or degree is a plus
