The Huff Construction receptionist is vital to the success of our company. The Receptionist is the face and the voice of our company. The greatest role of this position is to courteously meet and welcome customers and visitors whether it be in person or on the phone. Answer inquiries and provide information to the general public, customers, visitors, and other interested parties regarding activities conducted at establishment and location of departments, offices, and employees within the organization.
- Lock and unlock front doors.
- Get all newspapers from out in front and put them in the break room.
- Make sure there is coffee made and cream & sugar stocked daily.
- Stock copy machine, printers, fax machines with paper at the end of each day.
- Monitor the use of office equipment and maintenance schedules.
- Maintain adequate inventory of office supplies. Place supply orders.
- Keep reception area clean and tidy, putting packages away from site.
- Keep track of where all employees are at any given time.
- Answer phones and greet visitors.
- Screen & announce callers and visitors.
- Use paging system.
- Forward calls, provide information, take messages, or schedule appointments.
- Maintain Conference Room.
- Keep conference room clean, tidy and stocked.
- Set up coffee tray for meetings as needed.
- Send and distribute overnight mail and packages for all departments.
- Open, stamp and distribute incoming mail.
- Maintain the general filing system and file correspondence.
- Make copies when needed & distribute faxes throughout the day.
- Monitor activity in reception area to ensure activity is appropriate and professional.
- Additional projects as assigned from time to time.
- Perform administrative support tasks, such as proofreading, transcribing handwritten information, or operating calculators or computers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong typing skills (at least 70 wpm).
- Computer skill requirements include MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Preferred experience working with busy multi-line phone systems.
- Must be self‑motivated and a team player.
- High School Diploma.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
This is a regular full‑time position and requires a work schedule of 40+ hours per week. The business nature could result in layoffs. Location is subject to the specific project assignment. Salary depends on experience.
Environmental Conditions- Indoors in a typical office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes approximately ninety‑five percent (95%) of the time.
- Outdoors with exposure to noise, heat, and cold approximately five percent (5%) of the time.
- Frequent computer use at workstation up to two hours at a time.
- Frequently work at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
- May move (walk or drive) from one work location to another occasionally.
- Attendance and punctuality.

- Ability to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to drive a vehicle.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up To): $20.00 - $22.00
