Overview

The purpose of the Band Leader of the summer camp band is to support the Thousand Pines Mission by leading the Band in facilitating the musical portion of corporate worship gatherings and developing edifying relationships with guests and fellow staff members.

Essential Functions

Produces worship experience through music during chapel times in collaboration with Program Coordinator and Program team, speaker, audio/visual team

Facilitates worship and music related activities including, but not limited to, Extended Worship, and staff gatherings

Assists audio/visual team in preparing meeting spaces for worship and music related activities

Inspects and maintains worship and music related equipment

Engages campers, counselors, and guests in accordance with the Thousand Pines mission statement throughout the week

Additional Functions

Meets weekly with Program Coordinator as a representative of Band

Creates worship sets and prepares arrangements

Leads Band in worship practice as necessary

Provides occasional support to Program team

These duties are not exclusive and can be added to or taken away from at the discretion of immediate supervisor

Ability to facilitate a cohesive worship gathering in sync with message and media

Ability to be flexible and to adapt well under pressure or to special needs and/or requests

Commitment to upholding and modeling Thousand Pines’ values from the stage and in interpersonal relationships with all guests

Ability to communicate and work with a wide range of age groups and socio-economic backgrounds

Qualifications

Excellent godly Christian character and integrity

Experience leading worship through music

Excellent musicianship and adaptability

Current and valid certification in CPR and First Aid

Minimum 18 yrs of age

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time

Abilities sufficient to carry out the essential functions of the job
