OverviewThe Dentist will be primarily responsible for providing clinical dental services and preventive dental care in a community health center setting. The Dentist will also participate in additional duties that promote dental awareness and further health promotion in the community.

Compensation and ScheduleBase pay range: $/yr - $/yr
Full Time Equivalent: 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week)
DLSE/FLSA Status: Exempt / Salaried position
Pay Range: Annual Salary: $ to $ (Based on a 40 hour work week)

Position Requirements
Education: Must have a DDS or DMD from an accredited school of dentistry or MSD and 1 year of clinical experience
Experience/Lived Experience: 1 year of clinical experience preferred. Experience working with patients of all ages, with the ability to provide comprehensive dental care preferred.
Special Skills/Training: Must be licensed to practice dentistry in the State of California. Current CPR certification and DEA registration required. Must maintain CEUs as required for license renewal.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities- Demonstrate mission, vision, and values while working on a dental care team to provide quality dental care to patients.
- Evaluate, diagnose, prevent, and treat diseases of the oral cavity and related structures in conformance with clinical guidelines and evidence-based dentistry.
- Provide all aspects of general dental services to maximize access to care while maintaining quality care.
- Educate patients on treatment options including risks, alternatives, and benefits.
- Maintain competency in clinical dentistry with emphasis on pediatric dentistry, emergency dental treatment, restorative, extractions, prosthodontics, root canals, and prevention of oral disease.
- Review medical and dental history, update patient records, and complete documentation.
- Provide appropriate written referrals, prescriptions, and treatment consent when necessary.
- Educate and motivate individuals and families toward prevention of oral disease.
- Follow workflows and policies to ensure efficient clinic flow and patient experience.
- Meet quality and production goals and comply with applicable laws, regulations, and clinic protocols.
- Assist in orientation and training of auxiliaries and other dental staff.
- Attend Dental Staff Meetings and other required meetings.
- Cooperate in risk management activities and participate in performance-improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a teamwork approach to dentistry and participate in outreach programs and monthly peer reviews.
- Perform other duties as assigned to achieve organizational goals.
