Mark Twain Healthcare District is now hiring a Registered Dental Assistant or a Dental Assistant to work full-time in our outpatient Valley Springs Health & Wellness Center. This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of an innovative team, providing improved access, health and wellness for our customers and our community.
The Registered Dental Assistant performs administrative, clerical and clinical duties under the direction of the Dentist and under the supervision of the Clinic Manager. As a member of the health care team, the Registered Dental Assistant performs duties in their capacity for the care of patients in the dental care clinic, including:
- Identifies and escorts patients to the operatory
- Excellent customer service skills
- Maintain the highest level of infection control standards
- Adheres to HIPAA, the Privacy Act as mandated by Federal or State law
- Cleans dental units, chairs, instruments and operational tools
- Taking digital radiographs
- Must set up and clean operatory before and after each patient
- Must follow OSHA and VSHWC policy and procedures
- Sterilize and maintains dental instruments (dentist or hygiene instruments)
- Accurately updates patient's chart for each visit in the EMR
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have an enthusiastic, positive outlook, professional attitude and a willingness to learn and grow. Communicates effectively with patients and team members.
- 1+ years of experience as a Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant is required
- Meet state of California requirements
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR
- Current certification in radiography
- Experience with all ages, including pediatrics preferred
- Dentrix knowledge is preferred.
- Meet and maintain continuing education requirements for California
Job Type: Full-time - Salary Range: DA $23.00 - $27.00; RDA $26.00 - $31.00, depending on experience
