Explore Energy Program Explore Energy is a student engagement and energy education program under the Precourt Institute for Energy. It serves as a one-stop resource and nexus of connection for all students who are interested in energy—aggregating classes, majors, events, research, student clubs, internships, and jobs across campus. Courses, fellowships (such as the programs described below), mentorship, and a residential living program are also offered under the Explore Energy umbrella at Precourt for both undergraduates and graduates of any major, providing opportunities for students to learn about energy and sustainability both in an academic and an applied setting.

The Explore Energy program has an advisory board of Stanford faculty and staff.

Shultz Energy Fellowships program The Shultz Energy Fellowships program connects Stanford students with energy and climate ecosystems across the West through paid, energy-related public service fellowships during the summer. It is a partnership of Stanford’s Precourt Institute for Energy, Bill Lane Center for the American West, Haas Center for Public Service, and Stanford in Government.

Schneider Sustainable Energy Fellowships Through the Schneider Fellows program, Stanford students work at leading U.S. nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) in the sustainable energy field. Fellows spend a summer quarter or one year tackling the world’s economic, environmental,…
