Position
Purpose:
The Prep Director of Mission & Culture shapes and sustains the school’s Catholic identity as articulated in the Sacred Heart Goals and Criteria by cultivating a culture of belonging, dignity, and mutual respect. Rooted in the charism of the Religious of the Sacred Heart, the Director ensures the school fosters a deep sense of belonging for all members and leads programmatic efforts that foster greater equity, inclusion, and access within the Prep community.
Specific Expectations for Prep Faculty & Staff: In addition to regular teaching and duties, the following duties and responsibilities are expected as part of the faculty/staff workload: chaperoning, community responsibilities, professional development and trainings, classroom substitution, holding office hours, proctoring exams, admission interviews, and attendance of, or participation in, mandatory meetings and/or events (e.g. Director’s Day, open houses, Schools’ annual auction), as required and directed by your supervisor.
All employees will be paid appropriately and according to current law. In the case you are required to work outside of your normal work schedule, non‑exempt employees will receive overtime pay, as eligible.
- Serve on the Prep (Cor) Leadership Team and Community Life Team to be a resource to and collaborate with other Prep administrators.
- Serve on and coordinate with members of the P‑12 DEIA Team within the Office of Mission, Culture, and Strategy to identify and support cross‑campus DEIA needs and priorities. Maintain clear lines of communication with the DEIA team and campus office for Mission, Culture, and Strategy.
- Serve on the Preparatory hiring team.
- Manage and oversee budgets related to affinity and DEIA‑related programs (e.g., trips, professional development, materials) and report to appropriate offices to ensure all budgets supported through OMCS funding meet OMCS guidelines and receive required approvals.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Guide and support the refinement of student‑facing bias, harassment, and discriminatory harassment incident education, reporting, and response protocol for the Preparatory.
- Administer, analyze, and share student demographic and belonging data.
- Support the Preparatory Restorative Practices Team in its ongoing implementation of Restorative Practices.
- Continue to work with the CLT in realigning efforts of proactive community building, student code of conduct, and discipline processes with RP and the Goals and Criteria of a Sacred Heart Education.
- Oversee and continue to build out the Student Affinity space program through developing student and adult leadership, coordinating affinity events, and facilitating the student affinity leadership body (SURJ).
- Organize and select students eligible to attend student leadership development conferences, focusing on affinity space programming and Prep initiatives cultivating belonging and dialogue.
- Serve on the Preparatory Restorative Practices Team in providing interventions (Tier 2 and Tier 3 responses) in moments of harm.
- Upon request, provide consultation to Counseling, Deans, Academic Department, and OMCS teams in response to student case management and bias‑related incident needs.
- Collaborate with the Admission Office around recruitment events, student/family interviews, and new family/student welcome.
- Develop DEIA‑related strategic priorities for student‑facing programs.
- Collaborate with the AP of Instruction & Faculty Development to oversee educator formation to mission programming, including the two‑year new educator induction.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Principal of Instruction & Faculty Development to identify DEIA‑related professional growth priorities and create or curate professional growth programs for Preparatory educators.
- Identify, design, develop, and implement training for educators as it relates to culturally responsive pedagogy and curriculum, equity‑centered practices and restorative practices.
