Summer Camp Director – Wellesley Recreation Department
The Town of Wellesley Recreation Department is seeking a Summer Camp Director.

Responsibilities:
- The Day Camp Director is responsible for overseeing daily camp operations, ensuring a structured, engaging, and safe environment for all participants.
- Supervises and evaluates all camp staff, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Plans and administers camp programming, activities, and special events.
- Conducts staff orientation and weekly meetings to provide training and support.
- Oversees the use and maintenance of camp equipment and grounds.
- Manages and documents disciplinary actions among campers and staff.
- Acts as a liaison between counselors, campers, and parents, providing clear communication and support.
- Ensures all health and safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Acts as a professional role model, reinforcing the mission and values of the Wellesley Recreation Department.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Program Administrator.
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to problem-solve and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be certified or willing to become certified in First Aid and CPR.
- Minimum of 21 years of age and pursuing or possessing a four-year degree in recreation, physical education, or a related field.
- Minimum of one year of supervisory experience, preferably in a camp or youth program setting.
Other Info:
- Starting Rate: $22.00/hour, commensurate with experience.
- Season:
June 1 – August 16, 2025 - 45 hours per week.
