Position Specific Description

The Associate Wind Technician is an entry-level role within the Next Era Energy team responsible for assisting with the operation and maintenance activities of wind turbines at Coram Wind II near Mojave, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior technicians and engineers in performing routine inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks on wind turbines, including the mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and troubleshoot turbine issues and malfunctions to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Participate in scheduled preventive maintenance activities, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and bolt torque checks.
  • Conduct basic tests and measurements using various tools and equipment to assess turbine components and system performance.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to create a safe working environment and minimize risks associated with turbine operations and maintenance.
  • Document all maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and observations made, for record-keeping and future reference.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory levels and acquiring necessary equipment, tools, and spare parts.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, suggesting ideas to enhance operational efficiency and optimize turbine performance.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices, technical advancements, and safety regulations related to wind turbine maintenance.
Job Overview

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Performs parts and inventory management including adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley Act policies and procedures
  • Transports equipment, tooling, and parts to and from technicians and contractors in the field with assistance
  • Performs safety and environmental inspections directed by site leadership
  • Maintains all company supplied equipment, facilities, and tooling
  • Manages own training schedules and meets training requirements of the position
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • High School Grad / GED
  • Experience:

    0+ years
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Equivalent Experience
  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)

The estimated base pay for this position is $44,000.00to $66,000.00per year. Starting pay will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, job-related and industry knowledge and skills and education/training.
