Senior Electrical Engineer – Factory Automation

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the electrical design, development, documentation, and testing of factory automation systems. This role involves integrating diverse industrial components and machinery into automated systems. You will work on projects involving PLC-based control systems, Ethernet communications, robotics, power distribution, and electrical safety systems, while also supporting system assembly and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Management and Engineering teams to define requirements and specifications for new and existing factory automation systems.
- Design and schematically capture complete electrical systems, including circuits, panels, enclosures, and cabling.
- Use approved CAD tools to develop electrical subsystems and produce detailed assembly documentation.
- Select and integrate PLC components per company standards.
- Support PLC programming activities in collaboration with software teams, including diagnostics and core functionality.
- Ensure designs meet safety, reliability, regulatory, and cost-effectiveness standards.
- Troubleshoot and debug newly assembled automation systems with cross-functional teams.
- Support technicians during system assembly and commissioning.
- Maintain vendor relationships and support component selection.
- Stay updated with industry trends, automation technologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical support and training to internal teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in factory automation or industrial system integration.
- Strong experience with PLC-based control systems.
- Experience integrating industrial safety components.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio (electrical schematics).
- Proficiency in Solid Works or Autodesk Inventor (mechanical CAD).
- Experience with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Strong understanding of electrical panels, enclosures, wiring, and assembly documentation.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently or in teams.
