Position Overview

This position supports the maintenance and administration of multiple power systems at remote locations within the training area, and additional projects at Fort Irwin, California, These systems include Methanol Fuel Cell Generators, power inverters, and associated components. This position also provides the system administration and management of the hardware associated with these remote sites.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the maintenance, PMCS and troubleshooting faults with the fuel cell generators and associated components.
  • Responsible for the maintenance, PMCS and troubleshooting 48

    VDC power systems and associated components.
  • Provide solar system assistance.
  • Responsible for maintenance, PMCS and troubleshooting site support infrastructure to include sub-components and cabling.
  • Administer power and generator system control software including monitoring and documenting, notification, and clearing alarms
  • Ensures all maintenance, training, supply and property process / practices supporting site operations are implemented and documented in Maximo.
  • Responsible for working with government customers, site management, and sub-contractors to ensure the systems at these sites remain operational to provide connectivity and communication to a wide range of critical NTC-IS components and systems supporting training at the NTC.
  • Responsible for supporting through direct involvement other V2X and government projects as they arise.
  • Will adhere to NTC, Operations Group, company, Site Manager, directives, memoranda, policies and procedures.

Working Environment

The working environment for this position will be a combination of field work at remote locations and an office setting. Possible TDY support may be required, must be able to work a flexible schedule to support the NTC training mission. This can include weekends, evenings and non-standard hours should the need arise. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind).

Must be able to fly in a helicopter to reach remote locations and travel by vehicles on unimproved roads and cross county.

Physical Activities

This position requires sitting, standing and lifting up to 50lbs and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment for the task t be able to endure working outside in a high desert environment. Must be able to at times traverse uneven ground which includes walking/ hiking to remote locations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or Electronics related field.
  • May consider experience in lieu of formal education (6 years plus of equivalent military training, technical school, or professional experience).
