About Megaport
We’re not your typical tech company – and we don’t want to be. Megaport is the global leader in Network as a Service (NaaS), and has transformed the way businesses connect to the cloud, data centers, and each other. We’re publicly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and partnered with the biggest names in tech like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, IBM, and more.
Headquartered in Brisbane with a crew of over 400 people spread across Asia‑Pacific, Europe, and the Americas, our employees enjoy an environment that is collaborative, supportive, and (actually) fun.
We’re a team of problem solvers, pixel pushers, code slingers, and cloud fanatics. Culture is more than a poster on the wall here – collaboration beats hierarchy, curiosity fuels our growth, and everyone’s voice matters. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. We work across time zones to execute on our global vision, trust each other to get things done, and never compromise our values for commercial gain.
Most importantly, we place our customers at the center of everything we do.
Based in the Brisbane HQ reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, this role will be a key finance leader responsible for delivery of accurate and timely financial results, implementation of efficient and consistent global accounting procedures and being a trusted finance business partner for the business.
This role will require hands‑on finance input in addition to management of team members based in Brisbane and working with extended finance team members overseas. The ideal candidate has SaaS experience, is highly analytical and thrives in a fast‑paced startup environment.

- Manage the end‑to‑end application of IFRS 16 Leases, including assessment of new contracts prior to commencement, preparation and review of lease calculations, and the accounting for modifications, renewals, expiries, and terminations.
- Oversee the month‑end close for COGS and leases, including preparation and review of journals, analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Develop deep commercial understanding of network provider and lease contracts, ensuring accounting outcomes accurately reflect commercial terms and operational activity.
- Deliver monthly, half‑year, and year‑end reporting and analysis of COGS and lease‑related balances, contributing directly to the monthly finance pack and providing insights on trends, variances, and cost drivers.
- Draft the direct network cost and lease notes for the Group financial statements and provide required inputs for relevant subsidiary financial statements.
- Support half‑year and full‑year Group audits, and subsidiary audits as required, ensuring all COGS and lease‑related balances are well‑supported and compliant.
- Partner with key internal stakeholders— including the Accounting team, Corporate Reporting, FP&A, Accounts Payable, and the Commercial Desk—to ensure complete and compliant financial outcomes.
- Collaborate with operational stakeholders such as Deployment, Procurement, and Business & Data Centre Analytics to ensure timely recognition of costs and alignment between operational activity and accounting treatment.
- Review global balance sheet reconciliations related to direct network costs and leases to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to policy.
- Drive end‑to‑end process improvement across COGS and lease accounting workflows to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and standardisation.
- Provide financial insights and ad‑hoc analysis on direct network costs and lease impacts, supporting broader Finance initiatives and projects.
