Deputy Recruit: DSA Salary Range 41: $25.66 - $31.19/hr. (Deputy Sheriff I-upon successful completion of P.O.S.T. academy)
Deputy Sheriff I: DSA Salary Range 42: $31.95 - $38.84/hr.
Deputy Sheriff II: DSA Salary Range 43B: $34.38 - $41.80/hr.

The Alpine County Sheriff's Office is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Deputy Sheriff I or II. In this role, you will patrol assigned areas, respond to emergencies, conduct investigations, and enforce laws to ensure the safety and security of Alpine County residents.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
Experience in local law enforcement is desirable although will also consider applicants with CA POST Training Certificate.
One year as a Deputy Sheriff I in Alpine County or two years in other local law enforcement.
Education: High school diploma, GED or equivalent. A background in law enforcement or degree in a related field is desirable.
Citizenship: Applicants must be U.S. citizens and be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment, pursuant to the requirements established in California Government Code section 1031.
Licenses: Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license or equivalent at the time of appointment.

BENEFITS:
County provides medical, dental and vision coverage for employees with co-payment by employees, dependent upon family status.
Accrued at the rate of 6.67 hours per month, or 10 vacation days per year.
Earned at the rate of 8 hours per month.
Participation in the California Public Employee Retirement System (PERS), New Members 2.7% at 57 plan (when sworn).
Voluntary deferred compensation program offered.
All employees who reside in Alpine County will receive a total of two hundred fifty dollars ($250) per pay period.
