The Limited X-Ray Technician is a paramedically trained member of the orthopaedic team who works with all health care professionals in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibilities concerning all surgical and non-surgical orthopedic procedures. The Tech performs a variety of radiographic procedures at a skilled level requiring the ability to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Is responsible for the professional and efficient daily operation of the Orthopedic Department.
Works with all health care professionals in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibilities concerning all surgical and non-surgical orthopedic procedures.
- Fabricate, adjust and remove orthopaedic devices
- Apply mobilization and immobilization devices
- Apply skin, skeletal and manual traction
- Record in patient’s chart, condition, progress and assessment for review by the Orthopaedic Surgeon
- Serve as technical advisor to the hospital personnel in matters pertaining to orthopaedic devices and equipment
- Performs all routine Radiographic procedures.
- Assists Radiologist with diagnostic imaging procedures
- Is familiar with all policies and procedures in the Radiology manual
- Utilizes gonadal shielding on all pediatric/adolescent/reproductive age patients, except for cases in which it would interfere with the examination
- Instructs and prepares patients for diagnostic procedures.

- Willing to learn
- State of California Limited X-Ray license required.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification required.
- Orthopedic Technologist certificate preferred.
- Two years experience in Ortho preferred.
- Full-time, day shifts.
- Starting wage $32.27 to $39.12 based on qualifications above requirements.
