American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position requiring NICU and Pediatric experience along with NRP, ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications.
Requirements- Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential required
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license preferred
- License required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of experience in NICU and Pediatric settings
- BLS certification required
- NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications required at hire or within 90 days
- Acute care hospital setting within the Respiratory Therapy department
- Provides respiratory care services for adult, geriatric, and pediatric patient populations
- Able to intubate patients
- Night shift schedule, 3x12s, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Rotating weekend coverage required
- Assesses and documents appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapy for patients
- Administers aerosol and oxygen therapy and maintains patient charts
- Draws arterial blood gases per policy and physician order
- Provides care to ventilator-dependent patients
- Performs drainage procedures and provides cardio-respiratory disease care
- Assists in training and supervision of new employees
- Documents care given and maintains treatment records for charting and billing purposes
- Instructs nursing personnel on patient and equipment surveillance after initial installation
- Offers input on patient treatment plans and pulmonary progress
- Completes EMR documentation, flow sheets, and charges for each patient
- Position represented by SEIU
- Candidates with more than 5 days of requested RTO will be automatically declined
- Candidates with a prior hit on their license will not be considered
