Senior Living Activities Specialist

We currently have the following open on our team: Activities CoordinatorRequirements

• Must pass state required physical, and TB test.
• Must be fingerprinted and free of conviction.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, receive written and oral instructions and possess good interaction skills.
• Must be able to safely perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Prior experience prefered.

• Implements daily activities for the Atterdag Independent Living per state regulations.
• Communicates to residents verbally, in writing or by gesturing planned daily activities.
• Transports residents to and from activity locations, which may include some driving of vehicles and golf carts.
• Assist residents while in activity as deemed necessary for their highest participation level. Including monitoring of residents for limitations and distress to prevent discomfort and/or injury.
• Keeps activity logs and communicates assessment of the residents to Independent Living Director and Medical Staff to assure each resident’s needs are met.
• Assists in the recruitment, training, orientation and scheduling of volunteers and outside groups who perform or act as volunteers.
• Maintains current awareness of new policies and procedures affecting the department and organization.
• Assists Activities Director in organizing and publish resident activities calendar.
• Previous experience in a retirement community, nursing facility, RCFE or geriatric setting preferred.

Salary Start: $20 per hour
