At its core, ABSI is a technical solutions company committed to rapidly delivering emerging technologies and providing expert advice and support that create asymmetric advantages for our customers. This is only made possible by employing and retaining world‑class subject matter experts and personnel equally committed to our mission.

To support our workforce, ABSI offers highly competitive salaries, flexible work schedules, excellent benefits, instant 401K vesting and a full cafeteria plan that employees can tailor to their individual needs.

We are currently seeking highly qualified applicants to work at the US Air Force Test Pilot School, specifically supporting development and delivery of a Test and Evaluation training course for US Space Force personnel including operators and engineers. This in‑residence, yearlong course is currently offered two times each year with dedicated facilities aboard Edwards AFB.

ABSI supports these classes with a mixture of primarily on‑site personnel, some part‑time subject matter experts, and virtual learning as needed. Instructors should have operational and/or Test and Evaluation experience with space systems. The Astronautical Sciences instructor will work on‑site at Edwards AFB, directly supporting the Astronautical Sciences Technical Expert. This includes coordinating, developing, and delivering classroom instruction and hands‑on exercises to meet course learning objectives.

A successful candidate must have in depth knowledge of Astronautics and space operations. Specialized knowledge and experience in the operation and/or development of Space Systems and experience in DoD acquisition/Test and Evaluation are highly desired.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Provide subject matter expertise and analysis to develop and deliver classroom instruction and guide practical exercises in support of Space Test curriculum.
  • Provide expert advice to the Astronautical Sciences Technical Expert to guide curriculum development, course policies and assist in establishing new capabilities.
  • Coordinate with other USAF Test Pilot School divisions to ensure course logistical and administrative support requirements are planned and executed for each class.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in an engineering or related technical field with at least 8 years of experience with any combination of space operations/acquisition, test and evaluation, and/or systems testing. At least 3 years of experience must be directly related to space operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in operation or acquisition of space systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of Test and Evaluation procedures on a major acquisition program.
  • Must be willing to work full time, on site at Edwards Air Force Base.
  • Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Active Top Secret security clearance highly desired.
  • Test Pilot School graduate (USAF, USN, Empire, or EPNER) highly desired.
  • Experience delivering instruction to adult learners in an academic environment.
  • Experience with software tools such as Mat Lab/Simulink or Systems Tool Kit (STK).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web‑based collaborative resources such as SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
