Location: Edwards Air Force BaseOverview
The Strategic Planner will assist the Air Force Research Laboratory, Aerospace Systems Directorate, Site Support Division (RQI) and Information Technology Branch (AFRL/RQIC) with the architecture of the Information Technology framework and development of procedures and processes to facilitate the following:
Strategic planner for continual development and functional support for the IT Branch.Develops/consults on lifecycle management of computer network assets, network operations, cybersecurity and engineering.Develops/consults on development and testing of new IT infrastructure and IT-related requirements for both government and commercial ventures involving Gateway to Test.Develops/consults on the IT Operation framework of the facility/area portfolio and readiness status.Develops/consults on plans and sustainment of scheduling and coordinating RQIC resources with maintenance and planning of facilities and infrastructure, test schedules and training.Other activities will include assisting AFRL RQ-West (at Edwards AFB, CA) in the strategic planning and continual development and execution of the site support division procedures and practices. Performance may exceed a standard 40-hour week in the event of an exercise, contingency or other emergency with no notice.
This position will be located at Edwards AFB, CA.
Qualifications
15-years’ experience in conducting feasibility studies and analyses of alternative IT solutions and translating the requirements into technical specifications in an RDTE or similar environment.10-years’ experience providing advice and guidance on implementing IT security policies and procedures in the development and operation of network systems.Certification in CompTIA Security+, or equivalent.Certification in Program Management Professional (PMP).Excellent problem solving, time management, communication and organizational skills.Mandatory:
Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field.Desired:
Master’s Degree in an IT related field.Must be a U.S. Citizen able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
