Educational Interpreter for the Deaf – Signing Bonus $4,000
Placer County Office Of Education is seeking an Educational Interpreter for the Deaf. The role provides voice‑to‑sign and sign‑to‑voice interpretation for students, staff, and others to support educational access. The interpreter works under the supervision of the designated manager and the County Superintendent.
Pay RangeBase pay: $37.42/hr – $45.50/hr signing bonus: $4,000 ($2,000 upon completion of each of the first two years of employment).
Responsibilities- Provide voice‑to‑sign and sign‑to‑voice interpreting for students, staff, and others to support educational access.
- Assist with tutoring and instruction of students who are deaf.
- Support instruction and supervision of students.
- Collaborate with school personnel and support staff to ensure inclusivity.
- Valid California Driver’s License.
- Proof of CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
- Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification preferred.
- Certification:
Completion of an accredited college‑level interpreter training program. - Letter of Introduction.
- Optional:
Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) or equivalent with score of 4.0 or higher. - Resume.
- Test Results:
Educational Interpreter Written Assessment or equivalent with pass/fail ≥ 75%.
