Definition & Distinguishing Characteristics
The County of Colusa is seeking an experienced and dedicated Public Works Superintendent to oversee the repair, maintenance, and construction of roads, bridges, and related infrastructure. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of public works services, including equipment maintenance and traffic safety measures.

Possession of an appropriate valid and current California (Class

C) Driver's License is required to meet the performance requirements of the position.

The Public Works Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and strategic direction of the County's Road and bridge maintenance programs, equipment repair, and traffic control systems. This position involves managing a team of skilled workers, ensuring that all public works projects are completed efficiently and safely. You will play a key role in developing and implementing maintenance strategies, managing budgets, and monitoring service delivery to improve overall operations.

In addition to supervising staff, the Superintendent will collaborate with other County departments and external agencies to resolve issues, provide solutions, and ensure high-quality public infrastructure services across the County.
