Rantec islocated in Los Osos, California is an upper-tier designer and manufacturer of power supplies for the military and aerospace markets. We are an engineering-based company, with expertise in all aspects of power supply design, manufacturing and test.

Position Summary

The Production Test Team at Rantec is tasked with keeping product flowing from Manufacturing to the customer while catching items that do not meet customer specifications or Rantec standards for quality. The Test Technician is hands-on with final product and sub-assemblies, paying careful attention to detail will be the last line of defense between design or production problems and the customer.

The Production Test Technician will use a wide variety of tools, instruments, and automated test systems. The position works closely with Senior Test Technicians and electrical engineers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Test final assemblies and sub-assemblies to ensure adherence to specification.
    • Perform tests on Rantec products as directed by the Test Supervisor.
    • Execute Tests on the router and flag any failures.
    • Follow the instructions in the Acceptance Test Process documents exactly and inform Supervisor if any appear to be incorrect or unclear.
    • Identify trends in product or assembly failures during testing and notify Supervisor of your observations.
  • Support Production Test and Test Engineering
    • Work with other Test Technicians to ensure the Production Test and ESS areas remain clean and organized.
    • Report to Test Engineering any test systems that are not performing correctly or are providing suspicious results.
    • Assist the Test Supervisor in training new Test Technicians.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Ability to work flexible hours and/or different shifts, as needed.
    • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, State and Federal Regulations.
    • As the Company’s success relies on the productivity of our team and adherence to customer product schedules, an essential function of this position is the ability to arrive to work on-time, and work each day, as scheduled.
    • Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
  • AS in Electronics Technology preferred.
  • 1 year in electrical test preferred.
  • Experience using basic and advanced electronic measurement tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Experience with the MS Office suite (Excel, Word).
  • Ability to read and complete documented processes independently.
  • Soldering (IPC J-STD-001 certification) preferred.
  • Electronics inspection (IPC A-610 certification) preferred.

Salary: $25.00 Hourly
