The Bagging Line Operator is responsible for the efficient operation of the activated carbon packaging, palletizing, and shipping systems within a modern, automated production facility that converts almond or walnut shell biomass into high-grade granular and powdered activated carbon.

This position oversees bag filling, weighing, sealing, labeling, and palletizing operations, ensuring that every batch of finished product—either granular activated carbon (GAC) in 500 kg bags or powdered activated carbon (PAC) in 20 kg bags— is properly packaged, tagged, and stored in compliance with product quality and safety standards.
The operator also assists with warehouse inventory management, forklift handling, and outbound shipping logistics.

Key Responsibilities 1. Packaging and Bagging Operations
  • Operate and monitor automated or semi-automated bagging lines for both GAC and PAC products.
  • Ensure accurate bag weights using calibrated digital or load-cell-based weighing systems.
  • Adjust bagging machine parameters to maintain consistent fill rates and avoid overfill/underfill errors.
  • Manage bag feeding, sealing, stitching, and heat-sealing stations according to material type and packaging specifications.
  • Perform minor mechanical adjustments, belt alignments, and film roll changes to maintain line continuity.
  • Coordinate with process operators to match product transfer rates from silos/hoppers with packaging throughput.
2. Labeling and Batch Traceability
  • Print and apply batch identification labels that correspond to QC test reports and production logs.
  • Ensure that each package displays correct product type, batch number, net weight, and safety data labeling (SDS/GHS).
  • Verify barcode readability and packaging integrity before palletization.
  • Maintain traceability logs for all outgoing batches in coordination with the QC and production departments.
3. Palletizing and Wrapping
  • Operate automated or manual palletizers and stretch-wrapping machines to secure stacked bags for transport.
  • Follow specified stacking patterns and weight distribution to prevent pallet collapse or shipping damage.
  • Apply pallet tags and shipment labels for warehouse tracking.
4. Warehousing and Inventory Control
  • Transfer finished pallets to the warehouse storage area using forklifts or pallet jacks.
  • Maintain FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory rotation to preserve traceability and freshness of product.
  • Record incoming/outgoing inventory transactions into the ERP or inventory management system.
  • Perform periodic physical inventory counts and reconcile against system records.
  • Report low packaging material or pallet stock to the supervisor for timely replenishment.
5. Loading and Shipping Operations
  • Prepare and stage pallets for customer orders and logistics pickup.
  • Load trucks using forklifts in accordance with DOT load securement requirements.
  • Verify that correct products and quantities are loaded per bill of lading and shipment manifest.
  • Maintain shipping logs, signed delivery receipts, and other documentation required for traceability.
6. Quality and Safety Assurance
  • Inspect packaging for leaks, contamination, or improper sealing prior to release.
  • Ensure that bagged product corresponds to QC-approved batch release forms.
  • Follow all OSHA, NFPA 652, NEC 500, and hazardous-dust-handling procedures to prevent ignition or exposure.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the packaging and warehouse areas, avoiding dust accumulation and spillage.
  • Participate in safety toolbox talks and complete required PPE and equipment training.
