Manufacturing Operator 1 (Weekend Night Shift)
Employer: ITW Rippey
Schedule: Thursday/Friday alternating weeks through Sunday: 6 pm to 6 am (10 hrs straight time / 1.5 hrs overtime + 17.5% shift differential)
Responsibilities- Promote a safe workplace and follow all established work policies.
- Perform molding, demolding, and other manufacturing-related duties as required.
- Help train and oversee less experienced manufacturing materials processors to achieve daily production goals.
- Assist Lead-Materials Processor with operating manufacturing equipment to produce PVA sponge product meeting specifications.
- Clean and assemble PVA sponge molds.
- Follow established process operating and safety procedures.
- Contribute to maintaining and improving overall company safety.
- Adhere to all company, department quality, and safety procedures.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
- Regular attendance is required.
- High school graduate or GED.
- Ability to follow written instructions.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Average computer skills.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Proven safety record.
- Wet environment.
- Tyvek suit required for majority of the shift.
- Personal Protective Equipment includes safety glasses, gloves, face shield, slip‑resistant steel or composite toe boots, and a full‑face respirator.
- Clean, shaven within OSHA regulations when required to wear a respirator.
- Hazardous chemical handling, including skin and respiratory sensitizers, acids, and other chemicals.
- Computer use.
- Various analytical equipment and tools.
- Work on feet 10–12 hours per shift.
- Fast‑paced work environment.
- Lift up to 50 pounds during manufacturing tasks.
- Loading/unloading molds to and from curing oven: 40–50 pounds.
- Manual pushing of wheeled carts (full and empty molds): 80–190 pounds (initial and sustained force up to 50 pounds).
- Filling molds and removing cured products: continuous arm and hand movements from shoulder to waist height for up to two hours.
- Cleaning and preparing molds: constant hand and arm movement at waist height; light lifting 2–5 pounds.
- Processing and neutralization of cast‑to‑mandrel products: constant arm movements; bending at waist; lifting bins 15–20 pounds.
- Draining water‑filled temporary product storage tubs: 40–50 pounds.
$18.05 - $21.41 hourly + 17.5% shift differential
