Plant Operator

Job Overview

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Asphalt Plant Operator is responsible for operating and troubleshooting an asphalt plant.

• Follow all health and safety guidelines and report any issues to supervisor.
• Operate and maintain an asphalt (hot) plant.
• Operate heavy equipment (loader) and/or plant controls as required.
• Perform general clean‑up at the plant.
• Operate the water truck when needed.
• Perform dispatch and weigh‑master duties while operating the plant.
• Diagnose plant operational problems, complete plant repairs and perform plant preventative maintenance duties.
• Lift and carry 50 lbs. loads and supply own hand tools.
• Inspect facilities daily and complete maintenance checklist.
• Occasional night and Sunday work and may be asked to work between two different locations.

• 2–4 years of hot plant experience highly preferred.
• Maintenance experience required.
• Experience working at an aggregates plant highly preferred.
• Operate heavy equipment (loader) when needed.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Computer proficient.
• Lift 50 lbs. required.

The hiring range for this position is $32.00 – $50.00 exclusive of benefits or bonuses. Base compensation will be determined based on geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. The hiring range represents the base compensation we expect to pay for the position at time of hire and does not represent the total possible base pay of the position.
