Senior Certified Pharmacy Technician – Walgreens

Base pay range: $22.00/hr - $29.00/hr
. This range is provided by Walgreens. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develops strong relationships with most valuable customers.

• Assists in the practice of pharmacy under the supervision of the pharmacist, complying with state, federal, and company policy.
• Performs duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager, including using pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, and maintaining workflow.
• Reports prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist and follows Company policies and the Quality Improvement Program.
• Adheres to Good Faith Dispensing policy during prescription dispensing.
• Registers sales, handles cash, and assists customers in the OTC aisle.
• Handles telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist’s personal attention, including physician calls.
• Processes and resubmits manual claims for third‑party prescription services promptly.
• Supports inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and filing claims for overages, shortages, or damaged goods.
• May assist pharmacist in administering clinical services and coordinating clinical services with Walgreens healthcare clinics and external providers.
• Assists the Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in building relationships with the local medical community.
• Assists with maintenance of the Pharmacy Department, ensuring it is stocked, clean, neat, and orderly.
• Complies with all company policies and maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

• Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state‑required certification/registration.
• Attends training, completes PPLs requested by Manager, and acquires continuing education credits.
• Maintains knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest news and developments.

• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• At least one year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in specified locations).

• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Good math skills (counting, measuring, and weighing medications).
• Basic PC skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
