The incumbent serves as a subject matter expert on alert and warning systems, providing analytical support for developing and updating critical state emergency plans. They work collaboratively across Cal OES divisions and with state, local, federal, and NGO partners to ensure alert and warning systems meet operational and technical standards. The role emphasizes proactive issue identification and strategic problem solving to support statewide alert and warning readiness.
The incumbent offers expert guidance and delivers training to local government partners to strengthen their alert and warning capabilities. They also manage key administrative and compliance tasks that support state and federal requirements.
Working Conditions:
In Office: This position supports and manages the day-to-day business operations for Cal OES which is handled in an office location. This is not considered a hybrid telework position.
DMV Pull Program: Participation in the DMV Pull Program is required. The position(s) require(s) a valid Driver’s License (DL). You must answer the questions addressing your DL on your application. Ensure you provide your DL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.
Conflict of Interest (COI): This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code and is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.
