SummaryFor over a century, HII has built and maintained the U.S. Navy’s most powerful warships. Join us as we continue to maintain the Navy’s readiness! We are seeking a Marine Mechanic to serve on our SEMAT team located in Yokosuka, Japan. This experienced Marine Mechanic will be responsible for performing maintenance and maintenance training to assist shipboard personnel in the operation, maintenance and repair of specific items of engineering systems/equipment onboard USN Surface Ships.
* This role does not provide relocation assistance.
- Assisting ship's force personnel with shipboard mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
- Applies comprehensive understanding of production and processes toward completion of assignments.
- Responsible for interfacing with customers, managing subcontractors and ability to provide work direction to others.
- Performs a variety of complicated and non routine tasks.
- Develops and uses technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports.
- Schedules, reports and briefs customers and senior management. Performs duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment.
- High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 6 years of related experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance and SOFA LOA.
