B) is seeking a full‑time, dedicated and experienced Senior Pastor to lead our congregation in spiritual growth and service. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, a deep love for the inerrant Word of God, and a desire to teach the Bible as written.
We envision teaching believers, through the Bible, how to love God and love their neighbors (Col 1:28, Matt 22:37‑40). We strive to see life transformation occur and people becoming more like Christ through dynamic preaching, practical teaching, and discipleship relationships.
We celebrate a diverse and healthy community, embrace newcomers with love and grace, and offer vibrant ministries for all ages. Prayer is vital in all settings, and we endeavor to reach the Bonita community and beyond with the Good News that Jesus saves.
Qualifications- A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.
- Consistent spiritual and moral character, fulfilling biblical leadership qualifications as in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
- Agreement with the Constitution and By‑Laws of BVBC.
- Demonstrated desire to seek the Lord for personal direction and vision for the church.
- Consistent, daily devotional habit of Bible study and prayer.
- Proficient in biblical preaching and teaching.
- Properly ordained and educated in biblical, theological, and pastoral studies.
- Ministry experience demonstrating growth of spiritual health in the Body of Christ.
- Proficient in communication, organizational leadership, administration, and interpersonal relationships.
- Potential and desire for long‑term ministry at BVBC.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, organize events, and work effectively under pressure.
- At least MDIV from an accredited theological institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Pastoral duties
- Preach and teach the Word of God regularly; the Senior Pastor is the primary preacher in public worship.
- Share responsibility for public worship services.
- Administer the ordinances of Communion and Believer’s Baptism.
- Officiate Biblical marriage ceremonies.
- Provide general pastoral care and nurture.
- Recruit, train, and motivate disciples and ministry leaders.
- Guard doctrinal integrity.
- Leadership duties
- Provide overall vision and leadership to BVBC.
- Collaborate with the Elders to organize and develop the ministry.
- Share in the development and implementation of ministry objectives.
- Develop leaders.
- Participate in community group ministry (e.g., Family Night, Men’s Ministries).
- Management duties
- Supervise/shepherd office staff.
- Outside church duties
- Represent the church to the community.
- Provide ministry to the broader body of Jesus Christ.
- Interact with other pastors and local leaders.
- The Senior Pastor is accountable to the Elder Board.
- The Senior Pastor will develop and maintain private accountability relationship(s).
- The Senior Pastor will be reviewed annually by the Elder Board in accordance with the position description.
- The Senior Pastor will adhere to the Constitution and personnel handbook.
- Senior Pastor experience or potential.
- Male.
- Age 40+.
- Prefer Married.
- Open to all ethnicities and/or cultures.
- Open to physical disabilities as long as the candidate can perform the required duties.
$93,000 – $105,000 total package depending on experience and education.
