Overview
RNFA Surgery Full Time Days role at Desert Care Network. Benefits include a sign-on bonus for experienced Registered Nurse / RN and opportunities at Hi-Desert Medical Center involved. Positions may include working across surgical departments with the surgical team.
Responsibilities- Performs pre-operative surgical nursing care management, including nursing physical assessments, patient education, emotional support, and evaluating patient needs.
- Performs intra-operative nursing activities, collaborating with the surgeon and other health care professionals; assists the anesthesiologist when applicable; positions patient, prepares skin and draping, provides wound exposure and tissue handling, assists in controlling blood loss and suturing.
- Performs post-operative duties, assists in safe delivery of patient to recovery, and communicates with appropriate healthcare professionals and family members.
- Maintains a safe environment for patients undergoing surgical procedures and demonstrates proficiency in scrubbing and circulating for surgical procedures.
- Provides patient instruction entering the surgical suite, explains procedures, assists as needed, monitors comfort, and alleviates anxiety during procedures.
- Supervises ancillary staff in management of the surgical suite and coordinates transportation, supplies management, and OR cleaning through ancillary staff as necessary.
- Communicates effectively with coworkers, patients, and the public, in both verbal and written forms as necessary for the work assignment.
- Participates in quality improvement activities for the surgical suite.
- Demonstrates competence in care of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients as assigned, addressing age-related and cultural needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s Degree or Diploma from an accredited nursing program.
- California Registered Nurse (RN).
- BLS required; ACLS and PALS within 90 days of hire.
- Sufficient previous clinical experience as a First Assist.

Up to $25,000 Sign-On bonus for experienced Registered Nurse / RN; hourly range $43.32 - $71.18. Individual wages determined by qualifications and experience.
