The Clinical Educator is responsible for developing and implementing educational programs, focusing on enhancing clinical skills and knowledge of clinical / patient care staff. Working with clinical leadership, the Clinical Educator will create learning objectives, select teaching methodologies, and assess the effectiveness of educational initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:- Determine the educational needs of clinical staff (Needs Assessment)
- Using adult learning principles, develop curriculums that address clinical practice gaps
- Select appropriate teaching methods and materials to facilitate learning
- Assess the effectiveness of educational programs and make necessary adjustments
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure educational content is relevant and applicable
- Valid CA Registered Nurse license in good standing
- Bachelors of Science Nursing degree or equivalent experience
- American Heart Association BLS / ACLS instructor certification preferred
- Demonstrated experience as a Clinical Educator
- 5 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in a general acute care setting
- Understanding of behavioral health, subacute and acute care nursing practice
