Location: Quality

The Quality Technician position requires an enthusiastic and hard-working individual with a good eye for detail. The person in this position will be responsible for performing standardized quality control checks on incoming raw material and on Novagard products to ensure they meet the required legal and company standards for safety and quality. Quality Technician may also be required to maintain calibrated test equipment, prepare test data, and identify areas for quality control improvements.

The job requires knowledge of quality standards and quality management system for organization wide processes.

  • Perform testing quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors prior to release for use in production
  • Perform in process and finished product testing to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications prior to release
  • Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations and prevent them from using
  • Record test results as required and maintain proper record keeping for Quality compliance
  • Perform quality control inspections and quality assurance tasks to the highest standards
  • Support development of new methods for improving quality
  • Be able to create, write SOP, SWI and other quality documentation
  • Support customer complaints and non-conformance investigations
  • Perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure they are operating properly
  • Calibrate the tools and measurement equipment to ensure they are functioning properly and to ensure accuracy when testing products;
    Maintain calibration records
  • Detect, report and issue nonconformance for any deviation from quality standards
Competency
  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English
  • Thorough understanding of quality control standards
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to efficiently use Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Access and Power Point
  • Strong ability to anticipate problems and propose viable solutions
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Working knowledge of mathematical concepts
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to comprehend and use testing equipment

Quality Technician Level I, II or III will be determined based on experience.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

This role routinely uses laboratory measuring and testing equipment.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.

6:00 am – 2:00 pm – First Shift (M-F) 2:00 pm - 12 am – Second Shift (M-TH)

Subject to change based on business demands

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma is basic to the position
  • 1-2 year or more of post-secondary education is an advantage

Prior experience as a quality technician in any reputable firm is preferred.

Thorough understanding of quality control standards.

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 Quality Management concepts is an advantage
