Pyrometry Technician - 1st Shift

Due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market, Bodycote deems this position to be safety-sensitive.

Responsible for assisting Quality Manager as indicated in essential job functions related to surveys, calibration and instrumentation with limited supervision.

• Assists Quality Manager calibration recall system.
• Completes temperature uniformity survey documentation and review.
• Responsibility for inventory of consumable maintenance supplies pertaining to calibration and inspection.
• Performs system accuracy checks under direction of Quality Manager.
• Reads and understands Quality Manual and related procedures.
• Brings any irregularities, discrepancies or concerns to supervisor immediately.
• Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
• Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
• This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
• Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.

• This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
• Education – High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Minimum one year experience in thermal processing, metallurgy, customer specifications, maintenance, etc.
• Blueprint reading required.
• Must possess strong verbal communication skills, professional and patient style in dealing with customers and staff.
• Must be precise and detail oriented.
• May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends
• Must have knowledge by experience or training of basic math.
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
• Knowledge and hands on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required.

• Must be able to work in a sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time in an industrial environment.
• Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
• Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
• Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
• Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
• Ability to hear in person and via phone.

The hourly pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00per hour. Starting pay is determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with state and federal law.

This role is eligible for additional compensation, including shift differential, etc., if applicable.
