Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing QA/QC Inspector Supervisor to join our production team. Your primary objective is to ensure all manufactured parts meet our engineering blueprints, internal quality benchmarks, and industry standard regulations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Incoming Material Inspection: Inspect and verify raw materials, components, and supplier parts against purchase orders and Mill Test Reports (MTRs) before release to production.
  • First-Article Inspection (FAI): Audit and approve the first production parts of a run or shift change to validate machine setups.
  • In-Process Auditing: Conduct routine, scheduled routing inspections directly on the assembly and machining lines to identify dimension drift or equipment wear.
  • Final Product Testing: Perform end-of-line functional, mechanical, or electrical testing to ensure total compliance before packaging and shipping.
  • Measurement & Metrology: Operate precision hand tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) and automated inspection equipment (CMM, optical comparators).
  • Defect Management: Identify, isolate, and "Red Tag" non-conforming materials. Issue formal Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and assist engineering with Root-Cause Analysis (CAPA).
  • Documentation: Maintain meticulous, accurate electronic records of all inspection logs, checklists, defect rates, and material traceability files.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience as a quality inspector within a manufacturing, machining, or assembly environment.
  • Blueprint Reading: Strong capability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings, technical schematics, and GD&T symbols.
  • Tool Proficiency: Expert hands-on capability with standard metrology instruments (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, indicator drop gauges).
  • Software/Systems: Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, digital quality management software, or basic Microsoft Excel for data entry.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand or walk for extended periods on a manufacturing floor and lift to [e.g., 35 lbs.] regularly.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) designation.
  • Experience operating or programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
  • Familiarity with specific industry frameworks like ISO 9001, AS9100
