Nordic Line Cook

Overview

Royal Gorge Cross Country, Sugar Bowl's Nordic Ski area, is now hiring for the 25/26 ski season! As an integral part of our BOH operations, we are seeking a line cook to assist with food preparation, menu planning, and inventory control at Summit Station Cafe, located at the Cross Country Center. The Line Cook must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.

This position is available as Seasonal Full-Time (2B) or Seasonal Part-Time (3).

Sugar Bowl Resort has been proudly independent for over 80 years and is one of the oldest ski resorts in California. Situated atop beautiful Donner Summit, Sugar Bowl has a storied past with ties to Austrian ski culture, Hollywood and Walt Disney. This special community helped bring skiing to “sunny California” since December 1939. Since then, it continues to attract adventurous winter sports enthusiasts alike.

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
• Serve Safe Certificate
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
• Work well with others and treat clients and coworkers with respect.

• Provide excellent customer service to customers, employees and business partners
• Cook foodstuffs in quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served
• Wash dishes, pots and pans
• Bake breads and pastry
• Maintain cleanliness in Café area
• Restock grab-and-go food items and beverages
• Assist the Lead Cook in planning menu taking advantage of foods in season and local availability
• In the absence of the Lead Cook, oversees food and beverage operations of the Cross Country Center
• Help with monthly inventory, food and custodial product purchasing
• Assist with snow removal including shoveling and clearing snow from walkways, stairs, equipment and other areas as needed
