The Food Service Assistant plays a vital role in creating a distraction-free environment for guests and maintaining spaces that help facilitate ministry and guest experiences. This individual provides general help and assistance in the preparation and serving of meals to campers and guests, ensuring a delicious and sanitary dining experience.

• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals to campers and guests by serving in one of the following assigned roles of the kitchen – Cook, Baker, Dishwasher, Host/Hostess, Pantry Assistant, or Commissary Assistant.
• Follow all safety procedures and directions provided by supervisors.
• Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude, contributing to a Christ-centered team environment.
• Represent Hume Christian Camps’ values and mission through conduct, attitude, and service.

• Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with the organization’s Statement of Faith.
• Agrees to and abides by the organization’s Statement of Faith, Code of Conduct, and lifestyle/community standards.
• No previous experience or specific skills required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age at start of employment to live in staff housing; or must be a High School graduate who is a dependent resident of Hume in staff housing.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks and work outdoors or indoors as needed.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work under supervision.

• Ability to stand, walk, frequently lift 50 pounds, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
• Live and work in extreme weather conditions, at high altitude, and in small living quarters.

• Be a part of a tight-knit community of believers serving the mission of the camp.

Salary: $16.90 hourly
