Overview
Operation Wallacea is a network of academics from European and North American universities who design and implement biodiversity and conservation management research programmes across 10 countries worldwide.
Recruiting Locations and ScheduleWe are currently recruiting entomologists to work at various locations across South & Central America, Africa, Europe & Asia. Positions will be from four to eight consecutive weeks between June and early August, and information on all our sites is available on the website.
ResponsibilitiesThe position will involve working with both 16 – 18-year-old school students and undergraduate university students in the field to explain survey methodologies and undertake entomological surveys as part of a large‑scale monitoring programme. Methods include pitfall trapping, light trapping and malaise traps. Applicants should have experience of working in remote areas, survey experience and a biology or geography‑related degree.
