Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Rainbow City, Alabama.

Hourly Pay: $23.85 per hour. Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE Certification up to $700. Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter.
Schedule:
Tuesday through Saturday.
Hours:
First Shift Tuesday–Friday 8:30 am–5:00 pm, Saturday 7:00 am–3:30 pm.

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification, Post‑secondary degree or Technical Certifications preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance, oil changes, brake and tire work
- Two (2) years or more of classroom training and work experience
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, background and motor‑vehicle check
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Conduct standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostic computer when applicable
- Identify root cause of failures and perform repairs as required
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Assist with facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints
- Use shop management system and electronic documentation
- Work in accordance with federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required, including service island support
