Position SummaryUnder general direction from the Facilities Supervisor, responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical controls. Lays out and installs new electrical service including panels, breakers, disconnects, and switches.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Installs and maintains various types of motors, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers.
- Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Installs and monitors performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacements.
- Installs grounding leads.
- Interprets blueprints; works from sketches or verbal instructions.
- Lays out, assembles, installs, tests, repairs, and adjusts electrical fixtures, apparatus, equipment, wiring, and new services to include panels, breakers, and conduit.
- Monitors motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications.
- Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
- Orders electrical supplies and maintains adequate stock to repair electrical problems.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Advise enterprise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using test devices such as ohmmeters and voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
- Plans layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
- Prepares sketches or follows blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
- Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
- Analyzes circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service, or replace electronic devices and systems.
- Schedules repairs, installations, and electrical inspections.
- Starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
- Serves electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuits, printed circuit boards, and similar devices.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains communication cables, power distribution cables, and splices them as required.
- Maintains accurate records of all work performed, including circuit numbers, wiring methods, and location of any devices or splices.
- Notifies Supervisor/Manager of potentially dangerous electrical equipment and corrective actions taken.
- May operate company vehicles or equipment as assigned.
- Performs other duties as required.

High School Diploma or equivalent, unless waived by Human Resources Management.
Completion of an accredited four-year electrical apprenticeship program or an equivalent combination of vocational trade school, junior technical college, or on-the-job training is required.
A valid California Driver’s License is required. Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain a gaming license.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of methods and practices used in electrical work.
- Knowledge of electrical systems including planning additions or modifications on secondary circuits.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety practices.
- Skill in safe operation of power tools and shop equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
