Position: Aircraft Mechanic I (LUH-72 A&P) CBA - Barstow/Daggett, CA with Security Clearance
Location: Daggett

The Aircraft Mechanic I - LUH-72 A&P performs maintenance on helicopters, excluding repair of systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures.
• Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components.
• Services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems.
• Prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks.
• Performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections.
• Performs limited maintenance operational checks and assists in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required.
• Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment.
• Prepare forms and records related to aircraft maintenance.
• Removes and disassembles defective parts of the aircraft.
• Maintains the supplies and perform preventive maintenance.
• Performs additional duties including maintenance duties, as requested.
• When required can use Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) for job duties.
• Adheres to company policies and safety programs (Safety-first mentality)

Minimum Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired, certification of education level is required.
• All mechanics assigned to perform maintenance on FAA certified aircraft must meet FAA requirements.
• Valid FAA A&P Certificate Required.
• Shall have three years aviation maintenance experience, two years rotary wing aircraft experience, and two years on the assigned Mission Design Series (MDS) LUH-72.
• All experience must be within the six most recent years.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Must provide own tools/toolbox. Recruiters will provide toolbox requirements to candidates upon selection.
• Must be able to work, day shift, swing shift, night shift, and/or weekend shift (if applicable) - As required for CBA.
• Must be eligible to obtain a Passport and be able to travel internationally (applicable to OCONUS work sites).

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a NAC-I (T1) Public Trust Security Clearance.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
• US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility. Knowledge & Skills
• Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems on the assigned MDS.
• Basic knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, hydraulic press machine, and those listed in the assigned MDS Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC).
• Working knowledge of technical publications and Logistics Information Systems.
• Able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects
• Possess the level of experience to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by aircraft mechanic.
• The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.

Physical Requirements /Working Environment
• Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day.
• Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
• Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
• May be required to lift/push/pull heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds.
• Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and various software applications.
• Will handle dirty parts and lubricants.
• Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification.
• May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, etc.…
