Position: Aircraft Mechanic II (LUH-72 A&P) CBA Barstow/Daggett, CA with Security Clearance
Location: Daggett

The Aircraft Mechanic II (LUH-72) A&P maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty.
* Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
* Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation.
* Requires working knowledge of technical publications.
* Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
* Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies and components such as engines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components.
* Services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems.
* Safely prepares aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks and services.
* Performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections.
* Performs limited maintenance operational checks and diagnoses and troubleshoots aircraft systems using special tools and test equipment as required.
* Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools, and aircraft ground support equipment.
* Uses a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts.
* Uses a knowledge of electrical theory and of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers.
* Uses a working knowledge of technical publications and the Government STAMIS to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
* Receives technical assistance, as required, from higher-level technician.
* May be designated as a Foreign Object Elimination/Foreign Object Debris (FOE/FOD) Program Administrator.
* As qualified and when required can perform non-crew member duties.
* When required can use Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) for job duties.
* Perform other qualified duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
* Must be able to Read, Write and Communicate effectively in English
* Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and software applications.
* The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
* Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day.
* Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
* Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
* Will be required to handle dirty parts and lubricants.
* Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
* Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification.
* Must be able to lift/push/pull minimum of 50 pounds.
* Must be able to work in a shop where the environment is drafty, noisy, and dirty.
* Must have three years aviation maintenance experience, three years rotary wing aircraft experience, and two years on the assigned MDS. All experience must be within the five most recent years.
* All mechanics assigned to perform maintenance on FAA certified aircraft must meet FAA requirements. Valid FAA A&P Certificate Required.
* Shall possess the level of experience necessary to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by skill class Mechanic I and must have a combination of experience to repair engines, sheet metal, structural, hydraulic, electrical, power train and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required to meet the assigned missions.
* Shall have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, diagnosing problems, repair procedures and replacement of parts; requires broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.
* Shall have basic knowledge of electrical theory.
* Shall have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers
* Shall have a working knowledge of making entries in aircraft logbooks & records, military technical publications, and the Army's Unit Level Logistics Aviation Information System, ULLSAE.
* Must provide own tools/toolbox. Tools must be shadowed and etched with PID
* Valid Drivers License
* High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
* Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
* Ability to travel based on operational requirements.
* Must be willing and able to work any shift, as assigned by Union Clearance Requirements:
