Job Description

Company Description Children’s Hope Foster Family Agency is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to “Making a Difference, One Child at a Time.” Since 2000, the agency has focused on providing the highest quality support to children and resource families rather than being the largest agency. Children’s Hope recruits and certifies resource family homes and offers in-house licensing, monitoring, and support services to ensure safe, nurturing environments.

Regulated by the Community Care Licensing Division of the California State Department of Social Services, the agency prioritizes the safety, comfort, success, and happiness of children in care. Resource families and professional staff work together so children feel loved and supported during significant life changes away from their biological families.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Social Worker role based in Roseville or Yuba City, CA. The Social Worker will provide case management services to children and resource families, including regular home visits, assessments, and ongoing support. Responsibilities include developing and monitoring case plans, coordinating services with schools, healthcare providers, and community agencies, and advocating for the best interests of each child.

The role involves maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with state and agency regulations, preparing reports, and participating in team meetings. The Social Worker will collaborate closely with foster parents, agency staff, and external partners to promote safety, stability, and positive outcomes for youth of all ages.

Qualifications

  • Education and licensure:
Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related human services field; eligibility for any required state licensure or registration is strongly preferred.
  • Child welfare and case management:
Experience working with children and families in foster care, child welfare, or related settings, with skills in assessment, case planning, and crisis intervention.
  • Communication and collaboration:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Cultural competence and trauma-informed care:
Ability to work respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds and apply trauma-informed, strengths-based approaches in all interactions.
  • Organization and documentation:
Solid time management, attention to detail, and proficiency in maintaining accurate records, reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Professional qualities:
Commitment to child safety and well-being, sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to manage sensitive situations with empathy and confidentiality.
  • Technical and logistical skills:
Comfort using basic computer applications and case management systems; valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel locally for home visits and meetings.
