The coach position for our Kirkwood Development Teams will work with kids aged 6‑14 in a season‑long team environment. The team will train every weekend and throughout holiday periods to develop all‑mountain skiing and riding skills. The role requires excellent planning, communication, and programming skills. The coach will provide quality training to program participants in a safe and fun manner while upholding all California Skier Safety Act rules and regulations as well as company guidelines.
The coach position can be combined with teaching in the Ski & Ride School to provide part‑time work.

- Ensure the highest levels of safety on varied terrain in a high alpine setting with varying winter weather conditions.
- Communicate skill development and progress with program coordinators, athletes, and parents.
- Follow all Expedition Kirkwood and company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Evaluate children’s skill sets, develop a plan accordingly, and work with program coordinators to ensure each group is cohesive.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Must pass a background check.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
- Excellent communication and guest service skills.
- Ability to ski/ride at an expert level.
- Previous experience in coaching and/or working with kids.
- PSIA/AASI, USASA, or USSA certification.
- Previous competitive ski/ride background.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
The expected pay range is $21.00/hr – $62.52/hr individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
