Riding Instructor Part-Time

The Menlo Circus Club was founded in 1923 as a family club for social and recreational purposes. We offer Equestrian, Swimming, and Court Sports, as well as fine dining and entertainment. The Club has a rich tradition in Equestrian sport. We offer boarding, English-style riding programs, and a competitive show group called "The Circus.”

Our Riding Instructor will be expected to teach beginners, supervise unmounted activities, and generally help with barn chores. The instructor will also assist the Barn Manager with educational programs.

Requirements

• Part-Time, Less than 30 Hours Weekly.
• Must be available on weekends.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains a clean and well-kept stable area.
• Follows strict feeding and watering instructions.
• Keeps water bowls, buckets, and feeding areas clean.
• Assists with the daily turnout of horses.
• Assists with grooming the horses.
• Report any horse health, injury, or abnormal behavior issues to the Barn Manager.
• Adheres to established Club Equestrian department rules and regulations.
• Assist the riding school supervisor with the camp and teaching of beginner lessons.

Education/Experience

• Prior horse handling experience and working in a barn/stable setting.
• Previous teaching experience.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to be on feet for up to 85% of shifts.
• Ability to lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 75 pounds
• Able to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, twist, turn, climb, and use hand tools for prolonged periods.
• Requires working inside and outside and may require prolonged exposure to dust, hay, mold, rain, sunlight, wind, and cold.
• This position may require individuals to work longer than 8 hours in one workday and on weekends and holidays.

Must have unrestricted ability to work in the United States.
