Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton (SHS) is seeking excellent candidates for Assistant Athletic Coach - Seasonal at the Preparatory.

- In conjunction with the head coach, provide instruction to athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for individual and team success.
- In conjunction with the head coach, provide instruction that fosters moral values, strong work ethic, responsibility, teamwork, sportsmanship, self‑discipline, leadership, and self‑confidence.
- In conjunction with the head coach, maintain discipline and work to increase morale and cooperation within the athletic program and school community.
- Report game results to the athletic department immediately after contests, under the direction of the head coach.
- Transport team players to and from contests via team van.
- Supervise practices and games.
- Keep knowledge of technical aspects of the assigned sport up to date and continue to learn new ideas pertinent to coaching.
- Collect and issue uniforms at the beginning and end of the season, ensuring practice gear is worn during daily practices.
- Update the head coach/athletic director frequently during the season about any issues, concerns, or highlights.
- Clear commitment to the mission of the school and models professional behavior.
- Proven ability to support organization and supervision of a sports program/team.
- Good role model with demonstrated excellent ethics.
- Knowledge of concepts, strategies, rules, and regulations of the sport.
- Demonstrated coaching and/or playing experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and facilitative skills.
- Demonstrated excellent attendance and punctuality; availability for practice/contests in mid‑afternoon or evenings during the week and Saturdays.
- Current First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification.
- Ability to work in a high‑energy environment dealing with diverse challenges and deadlines.
- Must comply with state vaccination requirements and provide proof of vaccination or exemption.
- Work in outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Tasks involving heavy physical effort, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling moderately heavy objects weighing 20–50 pounds.
