Position SummaryThe Inventory Control Associate is responsible for operating material handling equipment (MHE) to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count inventory. Computer data entry is required for receipts, shipments, and inventory maintenance. The associate assists the supervisor/manager in ensuring the facility meets quality standards. The role supports company objectives in performance, safety, and quality while complying with all corporate and site-specific policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain accurate warehouse inventory
- Direct customer interface to answer questions and resolve issues
- Handle return material from customers to factory
- Transfer material to the appropriate area and relocate items to maintain inventory range and locations
- Operate all equipment safely
- Work autonomously, reporting progress and issues to supervisor/management
- Follow company policies, guidelines, and procedures
- Maintain records and reports to ensure inventory control and security; conduct physical inventory as required
- Assist in daily/monthly cycle counts and support shipping/receiving in locating missing items throughout the facility
- Perform safety audits and report or correct unsafe operations
- Participate in daily start‑up and staff meetings; assist supervision as needed
- Use PC skills for e‑mail and generating reports as needed
- Initiate action to prevent non‑conformities and recommend solutions through designated channels
- Investigate issues with inbound/outbound functions, including unloading, checking, stacking, storing, labeling, and loading; ship material to factory upon client requests
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area; perform housekeeping audits as required
- Assist leadership as needed
- Work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as required
- Participate in cross‑training matrix activities to improve knowledge in multiple departments
- Work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 6 months experience in a logistics/distribution or related environment
- Ability to operate MHE
- Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during warmer and colder months (mild to moderate)
Certificates, Licenses, or Professional Designations
- Completion of a forklift training program
Computer Skills
- Basic computer skills, including use of RF scanners and WMS functions
Language Skills
- English (reading, writing, verbal)
Mathematical Skills
- Basic to intermediate level for verifying quantities and performing inventory tasks
Other
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to accomplish tasks in a timely manner
- Capability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance
- Effective adaptation to change and thriving in a fast‑paced environment
- 1–3 years experience in an inventory department
- 1–3 years forklift experience
- Current or prior MHE certification

CompensationExpected base pay: $22.00–$25.25 per hour. Actual base compensation will depend on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, geographic location and other objective business considerations.
