HR Manager, Regulatory Compliance Specialist, HR Generalist / Talent Management
Ready for the next step in your HR career? Here is an opportunity to make the position your own.
Imagine joining a small, growing city where your expertise is valued, your ideas are welcomed, and you have the opportunity to directly influence the organization. The City of Calimesa is seeking an experienced public sector HR professional to serve as its HR & Risk Manager - a newly created position with the opportunity to develop and shape the City's human resources function.
Calimesa offers something that can be difficult to find in a larger organization: a collaborative and supportive leadership team, direct access to the City Manager, significant professional autonomy, and the ability to see the impact of your work. This is an organization where department heads work together, people know one another, and the HR & Risk Manager will have a meaningful voice at the table.
This is not a narrowly defined HR position. You will have the opportunity to put your experience and creativity to work across the full range of human resources - employee and labor relations, recruitment, classification and compensation, benefits and leave administration, performance management, policy development, investigations and collective bargaining - while also leading the City's risk management, workers' compensation and safety programs.
The ideal candidate will be an approachable, knowledgeable and solutions-oriented HR professional who enjoys being close to the work. You will serve as a trusted advisor to the City Manager, executive team, managers and employees while helping the organization strengthen its HR programs, streamline processes, develop employees and continue building a positive workplace culture.
If you are looking for an opportunity where you can do more than administer existing programs - where you can build, improve, influence and make a visible difference - Calimesa may be the next step you have been looking for.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field; and five years of progressively responsible experience in human resources and risk management within a municipal or comparable public agency setting including experience in multiple functional areas of human resources. At least three of the five years must be in an advanced, senior or lead role.
Supervisory or management experience is preferred. Professional HR certification is highly desirable, with senior-level certification preferred.
Compensation: $117,696 - $150,216
, DOQ, plus an attractive benefits package.
