Brief Description The Regional Safety Supervisor is responsible for coordinating, managing, implementing and/or reporting on safety activities across the regionally assigned geothermal power plants and corporate operations.

Responsibilities
  • Safety Leadership
    • Serves as a safety role model and champion throughout the organization.
    • Devises methods to evaluate safety programs and conducts direct evaluations.
    • Creates, supports, and implements strategies to establish and improve safety compliance.
    • Develops, evaluates, and recommends process improvements and equipment changes to maximize safety and improve environmental impacts of operations.
  • Site Safety
    • Coordinates with Operations, Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E), and Management teams to ensure safe operations for ongoing Plant, Well Work and/or Drilling activities at company owned facilities.
    • Understands, applies, and educates stakeholders about safety procedures, safe work practices and policies.
    • Intervenes in any health, environmental, or safety related concerns and exercises stop work authority where appropriate.
    • Provides training to internal and external personnel on HS&E policies, procedures, and standards.
    • Assists as necessary in any incident investigations including recommendations and lessons learned for sharing throughout the organization.
    • Facilitates, or supports local resources in the completion of, pre‑tour toolbox talks, safety meetings, JSAs, and JHA meetings as necessary, as conditions/work scope change or new hazards are identified.
    • Conducts on‑site HS&E inspections and hazard hunts. Captures results in daily HS&E report.
    • Serves as a first responder for any emergency that arises.
  • Organization Support
    • Routinely monitors, inspects, and verifies compliance with relevant safety regulations.
    • Provides regular reports to all levels of the organization on safety, compliance, root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, and other relevant health and safety issues.
    • Manages, tracks and/or reports on assigned action items from safety inspections and incidents from report date to closure.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Occupational Health and Safety or related industry field
  • One or more Active Board of Certified Safety Professional Certification, e.g. GSP, ASP, OHST, STS, CSP, or equivalent.
  • Active First Aid/CPR/AED certification or able to obtain within three months of hire.
  • Seven or more years of Health & Safety experience as a primary responsibility. Experience in Power Plant Operations, Geothermal Operations, Oil & Gas/Refinery, Mining, or related industries preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Federal OSHA and Cal‑OSHA requirements
  • Working knowledge of OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Ability to complete domestic travel (flights or driving) to remote locations in the Western United States, up to 40%, often with short notice.
  • Able to tolerate remote environments, indoor/outdoor work, wildlife, possible dust, dirt, and wind, including any weather typical for all seasons in southern CA, NV, and UT.
  • Knowledge of drilling operations and rig‑related equipment preferred.
  • Familiarity with activities such as coil tubing, wireline, cementing, well servicing, and fishing is preferred.
Location
  • On‑site position based in Salt Lake City, Utah or any current geothermal power plants located in Utah, New Mexico, Nevada, or California.
