Overview
Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Wiltshire, full‑time and long‑term. Axcis Education is looking to appoint a dedicated assistant to work at a special needs school in the heart of Wiltshire. The position will start immediately and run for the remainder of the school year, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.
Work Hours & PayHours:
8:30 – 3:30, Monday to Friday, term time only.
Pay: £89.00 per day.
LocationThe school is based in a converted manor house and specializes in supporting children diagnosed with autism, as well as those with complex needs and ADHD.
Responsibilities- Support teachers and senior leadership in delivering learning activities to students with autism and other special needs.
- Assist in keeping children settled, engaged, and on task.
- Adapt to changing objectives and follow instructions from teaching staff.
- Maintain a calm, patient, empathetic and understanding environment for all pupils.
Experience working with children diagnosed with autism and with complex needs, either within a school or through roles in youth centres or care settings.
Patience, empathy and understanding, with the ability to adapt to changing objectives.
Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service, or be willing to apply for one as part of the application process.
