Instructor in Agricultural Production or Agriculture (Part‑Time Pool)
We are accepting applications on an ongoing basis for part‑time instructors in this discipline at Ventura College. While there is no current vacancy, applicants submitted to this pool will be kept on file for the current academic year and may be considered if a vacancy opens within the academic year.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Provide academic instruction to students through lecture, lab, and performance courses.
- Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study, other institutions of higher education, and effective study skills; refer students to support services.
- Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives and learning outcomes; provide timely feedback.
- Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes.
- Maintain current, accurate records of course enrollment, attendance, academic progress, and course curriculum.
- Evaluate and select instructional materials in collaboration with discipline faculty.
- Revise and update course content and materials to reflect new theory, application, and industry developments.
- Update syllabi and collaborate with discipline faculty on measurable student performance indicators.
- May participate in curriculum and program development; may provide input into the development of student learning outcomes.
- May attend and participate on committees and in department, campus, and district meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- For hire into the AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION discipline: any bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience, OR any associate degree and six years of professional experience, OR possession of an appropriate California Community College Credential.
- For hire into the AGRICULTURE discipline: master’s degree in agriculture, agriculture science, education with a specialization in agriculture or another agricultural area (including agricultural business, agricultural engineering, agricultural mechanics, agronomy, animal science, enology, environmental horticulture, equine science, forestry, natural resources, plant science, pomology, soil science, viticulture, or other agriculture science), OR the equivalent, OR possession of an appropriate California Community College Credential.
