The selected candidate will be hired into either the Agricultural Production discipline or the Agriculture discipline, depending on qualifications. See minimum qualifications section.
What You’ll DoUnder the general direction of a dean, an Instructor (Non-Contract/Temporary) provides comprehensive classroom instruction to students from diverse backgrounds to facilitate attainment of academic or vocational objectives. Instructors may be employed up to 67% of a full-time assignment.

Representative Duties- Provide academic instruction to students through lecture, lab, or performance courses; assess and develop cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher order thinking through assignments and activities in various instructional settings.
- Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study, other higher education, lifelong learning resources, and effective study skills; refer students to support services as appropriate.
- Observe and evaluate student performance against course objectives and student learning outcomes; provide timely feedback to inquiries in class, online, or during office hours.
- Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes; implement student performance objectives listed in the official course outline.
- Maintain current records of enrollment, attendance, progress, curriculum, and outcomes; prepare and submit related data and reports.
- Evaluate and select instructional materials and order materials to ensure timely delivery.
- Revise and update course content and materials in response to new theory, application, and industry developments; update syllabi in collaboration with discipline faculty.
- May participate in curriculum and program development and in committees and meetings; may participate in articulation and matriculation activities; may provide work direction to others.
- Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum QualificationsCandidates must possess the minimum qualifications for one of the following disciplines as approved by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors and defined in the Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators in California Community Colleges handbook.
For hire into the AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION discipline- Any bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience, OR
- Any associate degree and six years of professional experience; OR
- Equivalent qualifications; OR
- Possession of an appropriate California Community College Credential.
